So does F Scott Fitzgerald count? Because he was pretty awesome. I mean, his books truly capture the American Dream and America in the 1920’s. Not to mention, the things he did for Zelda…

He also did things TO Zelda, some really not nice things, and she did some shady things to him too. True love at it’s worst. What a destructive relationship.

[Image Description: Background is several triangles in a circle like a pie alternating from true red, scarlet and black. A robin is sitting on his perch looking to the right.Top Text: “TAKES AN ORDER FOR A SUB TRAY.”Bottom Text: “WOMAN NEVER PICKS IT UP”]

I work for a gas station/convenience store who’s logo is Get In, Get Out, Get Going, and a few weeks ago, a woman came in to order lunch, asking about our sub trays.
I had mentioned to her to hat it was, not necessarily preferred, but easier if she’d call ahead, giving us a time frame when she’d pick it up. My co-Robin ended up taking to woman’s order,(which is no problem), making it, and placing it in our cooler for her to pick up later.
When coming back in the next morning pretty early, I opened the door to see that the tray was still sitting there. Fortunately, she hadn’t paid for the tray(we have them pay for it when they pick it up), and we didn’t waste the food(we ended up sampling the product out), but it just wasted our time, and productivity to make the tray when there was other things we could have done.
And as far as I know, we never received a phone call about it, and I haven’t seen the woman since.

Don’t know if it’s against your company policy, but I used to work at a restaurant, an independent, non chain, and this was always a problem with take-out orders. A person would call in and make an order for a large group or what have you. It’s such a waste of money, supplies, and time to prepare all that and then no one come to pick it up. So the managers started a rule that if a take-out order, especially the phone-ins, comes up to $50 or more, get the credit card number and expiration date as collateral.
People would come in, angry about the charge on their card, but we were just like, “look at all the money you made us waste”.
